The versatile young man was born to the family of Pa Christopher Philip Akume Chekwa Kulatsa Kpile, of Mbaagule, Mbazembe, of Ipav extraction in Gboko Local Government Area, Benue State and Ma Elizabeth Theresa Ashide nee Zungwe Ajabu of Mbaagwa, Ukan, Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State; all of the blessed memory. His siblings include Mrs Tarkaa Comfort Gertrude Terwuese, Mrs Ashikeni Margaret Mngohol, Mrs Iboger Jennifer Uyima and Master Chekwa George Bobby Ver. He got married to Mrs Chekwa Dorathy Perpetual Sewuese nee Valentine Jabi Vaatyough Kpurkpur of Shitile, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area in 2010; the marriage is blessed with two boys so far; Shadrach Sesooter Akume Chekwa and Meshach Shater Akume Chekwa.

He got enrolled into elementary school at a very tender age; he attended St. Catherine’s Primary School, Makurdi – Benue State; upon graduation, he was admitted into the Federal Government’s Unity Programme (then referred to as exchange programme) and was posted to Government College Nguru, Yobe State where he did his Junior Secondary School (JSS). He left the school at will and continued at Government College Lafia, Nasarawa State where he did his Senior Secondary School (SSS). He further enrolled into College of Advanced and Professional Studies, Makurdi (CAPSM) for Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examinations and also took a Professional Certificate course in Building and Engineering Design; that was where he fell in love with Building Engineering.

When he initially graduated from Secondary School, he did so as a Social Science student but falling in love with Building and Engineering Drawing at CAPSM, it necessitated him becoming a Science Student before he could further. That expedition took him back to SS2, this time at Ute Community Secondary School, Koti-Yough Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State where he registered and made the science courses that were required to fulfil his dreams. He then proceeded to the first privately owned Polytechnic in Northern Nigeria, Fidei Polytechnic (Fidpoly) Gboko, to study Building Technology; and through perseverance, he graduated with Distinction.

The quest for computer knowledge was everyone’s dream at that time; not being exceptional he took a six-month Diploma Course at Bocotech Computers Makurdi, and worked in the same Institution thereafter as a Computer Operator and Instructor. For effective operation in the technical field he went to Devant Computers Makurdi to study AutoCAD, software for Architectural and Engineering Drawings; he went on to become a Computer Operator and Instructor at the Institute; he also doubled as a Staff under the Engineering firm of Agude Designs where he specialized in AutoCAD drawings.

Further studies took him to the prestigious University of Jos where he read Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Building and graduated Second Class, Upper Division. For the love of teaching, he also obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). The insatiable thirst for more studies took him to the renowned Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria where he is studying for his Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Building Services.

He was always found worthy for leadership responsibilities wherever he went and does it meticulously, while at CAPSM he was the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Catholic Chaplaincy; at Fidei Poly Gboko he was made the Secretary-General, Young Catholic Students (YCS) in the Chapter. He contested and won the post of Financial Secretary, Students Union Government (SUG); was nominated to serve as the Secretary-General, Constitution Amendment Committee of SUG, amongst others. At Unijos, he won a seat at the Senate, representing Faculty of Environmental Sciences in the Students Union Parliament. He went on to become the National Vice President, National Association of Building Students (NAOBS). He lastly served the Students as the Chairman, Unijos Leave-a-Legacy Programme. He was always a Chieftain in the Community of Tiv Students (CTS) across most of the schools he attended.

He is a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), and a Statesman of the Man O’ War. He loves teaching; he has taught computer applications and technical drawing in different institutions at various times. He has a passion for adventures, jokes, fine arts, reading and writing stories and historical events. He has travelled to most of the States in Nigeria; also to some African Countries including Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo and the Benin Republic. He is a Catholic by faith. He celebrates his birthday on the 2nd of June.
