What You Should Know About Dr Shadrach Akpem
My name is Orkuma Tersur Matthew, I am writing from Keffi. I’m glad to identify with a friend, brother and mentor Dr Akpem Shadrach Terese who have been selected for the Prestigious Mandela Washington fellowship program. He is 1 of 57 fellows from Nigeria out of a pool of 10, 200 applications from Nigeria alone and over 70,000 across sub-Saharan Africa.
He will be at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana during the program under the Leadership in Business track.
He is currently building a robust digital animal health infrastructure with a goal of providing animal health coverage and social protection for 5 million Africans by 2030.
Dr Akpem hails from Shangev Tiev, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State. A Certified, Licensed and Practicing Veterinary Doctor, Founder Vet-Konect, Business Mentor, Digital Innovation Lead, SDG Lead, thought leader and an advocate of good governance.
A star they say has no hiding place, neither does it seek to be noticed, instead, a star makes way where there is darkness. I believe in his ability to explore, and I’m confident that he will make judicious use of these opportunities.
He competed amongst over 2,500 young Entrepreneurs across Nigeria to finish amongst the top 5 finalists which earned him a prize from the Organisers of Nigeria’s frontline Entrepreneurship Reality TV Show – Streetwize.
Dr Akpem Terese Shadrach was the only representative from Benue State and the North Central who made it to the Outstanding 5 Streetwize Champions category and with this feat has written the name of Benue State and Region in the anals of Streetwize Nigeria’s History.

He was nominated and received political leadership training in Liberia from the Young Political Leadership School for Africa in 2019.
Dr Shadrach Akpem is currently also the Project Officer of the Benue Agribusiness Innovation Hub, a UNDP-funded initiative in partnership with the Benue state government and organisers of the “The Agro hack challenge”, an innovation contest that identified and is empowering emerging entrepreneurs, Agritech, engineers, innovators, agric tech solution enthusiasts.
Dr Shadrach remains committed to using the experience harnessed from several National and International Training, Competitions and workshops to improve the world and continue raising more Youths and Women out of poverty. He is currently building a robust digital animal health infrastructure with a goal of providing animal health coverage and social protection for 5 million Africans by 2030.
He is happily married to Pamela Dooshima Akpem.
